10 Little Things About Us...

1. Our Story

Lee and I are high school sweethearts. We met in 1998 and have been in love ever since. I could not have married a better man. He is the love of my life. We are soulmates. The best thing about our relationship is that we honestly love being with each other. Couples always are asking us how we stay so in love. Neither of us really ever know what to say. I think it just comes down to marrying someone who you truly like being around and can trust completely. We have a rare deep commitment to each other. Our love began at an early age and it has grown deeper throughout each year together. We are each other's perfect match.

2. Our Children

When we adopted Ethan and Vienna our lives began. Four years ago, Loralee stepped off a plane from Uganda with one-year old Ethan. A few months later Vienna was born to our wonderful birthmother in Colorado. Ethan is four years old and Vienna is turning three this year. Boston is now one years old. Ethan, Vienna and Boston are our whole lives. They are the best thing that ever happened to us. We have loved every minute of being parents. We are hoping to add one more prince or princess to our little family. Adoption is the most beautiful blessing in our lives! As we look forward to a new daughter or son we are filled with excitement as we know how wonderful it will be to be blessed with another child through adoption.

3. Our Family

We have a tight knit family. Lee grew up with two brothers and Loralee grew up with three sisters. We are all very close. Family traditions are a large part of both of our families. We spend lots of holidays together. Christmas, Easter, July 4th, or Thanksgiving - if we can be together, we are. Spending time with our family is important to us. Lee likes to go golfing with his brothers and I love shopping with my sisters. We all love to go to our family cabin on weekends to fish, four-wheel, relax, and play games. We also want you to know that all our family is very excited about us adopting! No one can possibly have more baby blankets ready to be made than our grandmothers-to-be! Aunts, Uncles, Grandmas, and Grandpas are all ready to spoil.

4. Our Home

Shortly after our honeymoon, Lee and I moved to Texas. We love it here! Texans are very friendly and the weather is great! We bought our home in 2005 and have really enjoyed it. Education is very important to us (Lee was valedictorian of a top Business College and I am just finishing my Master's in Family Counseling.) Because of this, we purposely chose to live in one of the country's best school districts and already had our children's college funds established proir to adopting. Our home is less than five minutes away from Lee’s office. This has been a huge blessing, because I can stop by the office any time and he can come home for lunch to see the kids. We have a standard weekly family date at one of the kid's favorite cafes here. I try to make our home a little heaven on earth. Designing and cooking are two of my favorite things. Each one of our children's rooms, I design for them to have a special place just their own. Lee helps me in the kitchen a lot and we like to make gourmet meals from scratch together. We have a spacious home with plenty of room and with a nursery ready to just add baby.

5. Our Pets

Lee and I love all animals, especially small dogs. We have two teacup sized dogs named Buster and Sophie. They are our little sweethearts. They love to snuggle and adore Ethan, Vienna, and Boston. We have had them for almost six years now. They are very obedient and fun together. Buster and Sophie keep us laughing! We love them! We also have memberships to the Zoo and SeaWorld. I love taking the kids to see the animals. One of our favorite things is to feed the dolphins and pet the baby lambs!

6. Our Love of Travel

A large part of Lee and I’s lives includes our love of travel and helping others. We both have visited many countries and while single we both worked abroad. I lived in Africa for many months working with street children and orphans and I also taught English in China for several months. Lee has spent time doing humanitarian aid projects in Guatemala and Uganda, as well as two years in Mexico on a church mission. After college, Loralee worked internationally as a consultant. We just love seeing new places. Now that we have children when we travel, we travel together. We want our children to be involved in humanitarian work and see the world. It has taught us to be grateful for what we have, and proud to be American.

7. Our Traditions

Lee and I love traditions. They make life more meaningful and fun! Every Christmas Eve we open up one present and it is always pajamas! Christmas morning we have homemade scones. Easter morning we have crepes. Every Friday is homemade pizza and movie night. And Saturday mornings Lee and I go for a walk together. We have prayer together every evening and morning. We always have friends over for holidays and summer BBQs. No one ever wants to miss our annual Santa's Breakfast or Halloween Mystery Dinner. We love friends and having people over often. Entertaining family and friends with good food is a big part of our lives.

8. Our Love for Each Other
Loralee about Lee:
Lee is the sunshine of my life. He is someone I cannot imagine my life without. I have never met anyone who is as genuine and kind as Lee. Talking about him makes me cry. He finds the silver lining in every cloud. He makes me feel special everyday. I cannot remember a day that he has not told me how beautiful and talented I am. People gravitate towards Lee. Everyone wants to be his friend. He is the man that I have always wanted as a father for my children.
Lee about Loralee:
I love Loralee for more reasons than can be named. She stole my heart in High School and never released it. She is fun and can make me laugh more than any person I have ever met. Loralee makes everything special; whether it is a party at our home or a housewarming gift for the neighbors, you know it will be creative and heartfelt. She is smart, beautiful, talkative and genuine. Her caring nature, natural leadership, and cheerful, patient manner will make her an excellent mother. She is my soulmate, best friend, and confidante.

9. Our Faith

Lee and I have a deep faith in Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. We pray together every morning and night. We have taught Ethan and Vienna that they can pray to their Heavenly Father anytime anywhere. Ethan and Vienna know who Jesus Christ is and what He did for them. We attend church every Sunday and feel it is important for our children to know God and His plan for them. Lee and I know that God lives. Religion is sometimes a taboo topic, but we feel it's important to let you know that we would teach your child that God loves them, He is aware of them, He answers all prayers, and that all are equal in His sight.

10. Our Hopes & Dreams for your Baby

We promise to love this child as much as any has ever been loved! We will make sure they wear Mickey Mouse ears at Disneyworld, teach them to love hot chocolate and homemade ice cream, and will ride the Polar Express Train with them every Christmas. He or she will learn horseback riding, all the sports and activities desired, and Fur Elise on the piano. We love to travel, so this baby will see the world. Most of all, we pledge to help them gain an abiding love of Jesus Christ as their Savior.

As noted above, education is important to our family. Both of us have our Bachelor’s degrees and have already have our children's college funds. We will work to make sure that this little child will succeed in school and have the opportunities to become all he or she wants to be. We live in a beautiful, safe neighborhood in one of the country’s best school districts.

Financially we have been blessed greatly. Lee is a Partner at his brokerage and we have invested very successfully. Due to this, Loralee is a full-time stay at home mom. We feel this is important. Swimming lessons, homemade chocolate chip cookies after school, and ensuring beds are made are all little things that we think make a big difference in a child’s life.

We want to give those things to this child. We will share with this child any information about you or your family that you would like. Most importantly, we want this precious little one to know that he or she is unconditionally loved by not only us, but you too.

We want to hear your story and learn what you are looking for in an adoptive family. Please call us or write us with any questions, we would enjoy getting to know you better. Thank you again for the decision you have made.

With all sincerity,
Lee & Loralee
